This will be the first post in our new class blog. Last week, we listened to two students share their experience at TIU. What has been your experience so far? What to do when no one is around to talk?

The end of the semester is coming. With only three weeks left, students will have to think about how to study and practice without GTF classes or English Plaza. Three months is a long time without using English and all students need to think about what they can do to keep up their English skills. This blog post will introduce English Central  (EC) as a good option for anyone who wants to practice English using videos. I like EC because it has listening and speaking practice. Videos can be a great way to practice because they are interesting and fun. Many of you spend a lot of time watching videos on Youtube anyway, so why not focus more attention on specific English learning programs.

Hau from the English Plaza Team Every morning, I go to the Oregon Cafe to have a cup of coffee. I think the coffee is good, but more importantly, I like talking to the English Plaza interns. On Wednesday mornings, Hau is behind the counter. He is always friendly and is happy to serve his customers. I ask him questions about his classes and work in the EP. Below is an example from our conversation. George:  Good morning, Hau. Can I have some coffee, please? Hau: Of course. Can I have your ID card, please? George: Here you go. How is your morning so far? Hau: Going well. I just finished my study abroad application. George: When are you planning to study abroad? Hau: Next spring. I want to go to Europe, but I don't know which country. George: That's great Hau. I'm happy to hear that you will be studying abroad. What will you study?
